In solidarity, I Jasmine H. Low, stand on the unceded lands of the Gadigal people, and pay my respects to their elders past, present and emerging. This statement ought to be one of the first things shared with all Australians, and their neighbours, such that they too embrace the essence and truth of the land they call home. Acknowledging history is paramount to a bright future.
Include this statement on websites, speeches and company statements: ‘In the spirit of reconciliation, I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.’
