5 April 2019, Kuala Lumpur – I owe thanks to a friend Zena of Wildsnapper Films who invited me to attend the MPA International Script to Screen Workshop. I clicked Yes, I’m attending and the next thing you know, I was sending in a script that was sitting in Google Drive and attending an amazing mentorship workshop with Tan Chui Mui of Dahuang Pictures. The three judges liked the script and my presentation and gave me a special prize to attend the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC Melbourne) from 1-4 March 2020. I’ll be embarking on a new phase in my career – creating longer form content using film. Thank you, the MPA, FINAS & Wildsnapper Films!

AsiaFitnessToday.com

26 March 2019, Kuala Lumpur – My team at GoInternationalGroup.com has been building AsiaFitnessToday.com since 2015 and we were selected for the Cradle Coach n Grow Cohort 4 program in 2017. We graduated in September last year. Today, our co-founder Nikki Yeo, TV host Raj Aria and video journalist Jules Rahman Ong cover the inaugural World FIT Summit in Singapore. AFT brings sports, health & fitness news content for the region. This means a lot of product unboxing, covering of live events and meeting amazing people who are on the same fitness path – to help change the lives and lifestyles for themselves, and for others.

#Move8 movement therapy

My partners and I are inspired by MOVEMENT because we’ve seen the lack of movement in people we know and in ourselves and that leads to ill health and disease. Humans were born to move and not be still. Our forefathers foraged for food for days, many starved to death. Humans today are spoilt for choice to the extent of some even wasting food! So in August 2018, we launched #MOVE8 fitness movement. Spurred by my very own personal experience with my mother, the #Move8 – a fitness movement aims to get people moving on their feet. I started with myself! I use public transport and walk as much as I can. I even have walking meetings and use apps like GoogleFIT and Grab to monitor my movement. We want to make this ripple grow it into a wave.

Production media fixing

I took on some work as a freelance consultant to assist Jules Rahman Ong, a well-respected documentary filmmaker and journalist. I’ve been a driver, stealth investigator, document runner, fixer! I do this because I believe in constantly learning and paying it forward. What better than to learn on the beat. I’m learning the ropes in news production, news story research, investigation and most importantly cross-referencing and source checking. They are the true story tellers, always searching for the voice that represents the people. There’s no luxury of time in editing and you’ve really got to think on your feet while getting all of your facts checked! Here are links to the last few documentary projects I’ve worked on. I can’t wait until our next assignment!
